At check-in, you will receive your packet that will have your parking number assignment on your color-coded card. You will also receive your goody bag at that time.

Color key: Red-Bartlet north, White-Pine Knot north, Blue-Village Drive-east.

The entrances will be manned by volunteers who will check your card. Then other volunteers will direct you to your spot. The car show entrances in the Village close at 9:00 AM sharp.

Traffic direction in the Village is one-way only. Depending on your location, you will either park parallel to the street or park at a diagonal. Back-in only for diagonal spots. This sets everyone up for easy exit from the show.

Please check-in on Friday. Check-in is possible on Saturday morning.  Be sure to come early if you choose to do this. You must be registered and checked-in to enter the show at the correct entrance prior to  9 AM. The north-west corner parking lot is accessible via Cottage Lane and can be used as temporary parking so you can walk to check-in. After check-in, you must exit the lot to the north (toward the lake) to proceed to your respective entrance.

There will be colored balloons at each entrance to help you see the entrance from afar. If you arrive at the wrong entrance, you will be directed to drive around to the correct entrance.

If you can’t make the show on Saturday, please contact the Fun Run Chairman to offer up your parking space. There likely will be people on standby for a spot. Please note that there are no refunds for your entry fee as it is considered a donation.

Saturday, spaces for no shows may be available for people waiting for a spot. Come early to registration.  People getting a spot must fill out an on-site registration form and pay the entry fee.   You can park in the volunteer parking lot while you go to registration.  Your show car is your pass into the volunteer lot.

Judging

Judging starts Saturday morning at 9:30 AM. There are 70 awards to be handed out for multiple categories. A car can only win one award. (BBLACC club members are not eligible for these awards.) Be aware that judges must walk the entire show to find your car and others, so please do not change from assigned locations.  You risk losing your award if the runners can’t find your car after judging.

After judges complete their evaluations, results are tabulated and winners are determined. By about 2:30 PM, the judges will return to the winners to let them know to come to the Awards Ceremony Sunday morning. If you leave early for any reason, you may not receive notice of your award. Awards will only be handed out at the Awards Ceremony on Sunday morning to those vehicles and owners who are present.

Your parking could will already be marked to show you won’t be able to attend Sunday morning’s Awards Presentation.  This will let the judges know not to judge your car.  Please assist us to make sure your card is marked this way if you can’t make it.

There will be a People’s Choice award for BBLACC club member cars. These cars are parked along the north end of Bartlett Road.  Ballots will be handed out to all spectators to vote for their favorite car.  There is a tradition in the club that the People’s Choice winner gets a picture of their car printed on the following year’s artwork.  Voting for the People’s Choice award closes at noon.

Cruise around the Lake

The show officially ends at 3:30PM. After exiting the car show, entrants can choose to cruise around the lake. It’s one way exiting the Village, so please be patient and courteous with other entrants.  If you do so, please follow all local vehicle safety and operation laws strictly.

Those who wish to cruise around the lake can travel West from the Village exit on Village Drive on to Hwy 18, across the Dam, turning immediately right on Hwy 38 (Northshore) and through Fawnskin.  No Burnouts!  Continue on Northshore, then turn right on Northshore Lane to go through the camping area, then back to Hwy 18 and on to your final destination.  Spectators will be lining the road to cheer you on!

Continue to the Village by turning right on Stanfield cutoff, then right on Big Bear Blvd.

Awards Ceremony

Awards will only be handed out at the Sunday morning Ceremony in the Bartlett parking lot starting at 9 AM. You must be present to win. Follow parking instructions in your winner’s packet, arriving early Sunday so that the winners can be staged in assigned parking spaces by award order.

Awards will be handed out by the award’s sponsor. In addition, a nice touch is that each winner receives a long-stemmed rose in addition to the award trophy.

Info for Spectators

The show is open for spectators on Saturday from 9 AM until the cars exit at the show about 3:30 PM. There is no spectator parking in the Village.  Village Drive, Pine Knot Avenue, and the Bartlett parking lot will only be open for pedestrian traffic.  Please no bicycles during the show to prevent accidents with spectators and show cars.

Weather is usually warm in August and you are at high altitude, so be sure to stay well hydrated.  Water and soft drinks will be available for sale at the show at registration.

Awards Ceremony Sunday morning

The Awards Ceremony, in the Bartlett parking lot, is not just fun for the winners. We will have seating set up for spectators. Come out and cheer on your favorite car! The Awards Ceremony starts at 9 AM. The ceremony starts with the presentation of colors by our local Marines group along with the singing of the National Anthem.
